I've eaten here a few times and the food has never quite settled right. This last time I decided to order nachos, usually a natural gluten free option. To my surprise they put wheat in their green chili and guacamole, wtf! The waiter when he realized After I mentioned our allergies to wheat that they couldn't serve me the nachos or my man the green chili burger the fiasco started. My husband never got his burger and ended is sharing with me the remade nachos they brought to us thirty minutes later. They did have a gluten free menu but they didn't give this to is until the end which is crazy. The manager came and talked to us about their menu, and had little sympathy and gloated that they will never change the recipe for their green chili or guacamole. Overall this restaurant is perfect for the small minded mentality of Estes Park tourons, and the rest of us locals will find good food elsewhere.

Mmm yummy thin crust pepperoni pizza and cheese fries! I'd come back and try more stuff like the minestrone soup and spaghetti people talk about.

Very ordinary and bland food for a very high price. Probably explains why we were to be seated immediately without reservations on a Labor Day weekend night. Honestly, they should be embarrassed for their lack of quality and their unreasonable pricing based on that lack of quality.

Only because of reviews we tried this place and since we have one in our town that id rate - 10 it was a risk to go. But we are thankful we did, absolutely amazing service and food. This one needs to show there fort morgan one how to do it both in food and service!

Food was mediocre at best. We tried the all-you-can-eat spaghetti special, and while the homemade noodles were quite good, the marinara was bland and watery. Also, we were told draft beers were $4.50 for 16OZ, but when our ticket arrived we were charged $5.75. For the price, you can do much better in Estes Park.

Nice little restaurant that had a great vibe! I had the Friday night special which was the seafood platter and my wife had the sirloin steak. It really wasn't that bad! It was packed when we arrived and the service was great. My seafood platter was very simple with breaded shrimp and cod with side coke slaw and fries...went well with my colors light! My wife's sirloin steak was cooked perfect and was delicious! We are definitely coming back!

Came here for a "treat yo' self" dinner on my vacation. Waiter (Sean? I think) was super friendly and nice. He was patient with questions I asked and very attentive the entire evening. Place was moderately busy, but I never had to wait for anything I needed. He definitely did a great job! There were a few foibles through the meal. I got an ultimate burger, a side salad and a mud pie for dessert. The salad came on a plate way too small and there were too many toppings, so when I poured my dressing on it went all over the table. I noticed the lettuce in the middle of the heap on the salad was frozen, but there was so much, that I could easily eat around it. The fries were delicious. Cooked perfectly. The burger was ok. The bacon was burnt to the point that it was really chewy (which I know some people like) and the egg was overcooked. But the burger patty and bun were excellent. I think if I went again, I would just get the regular cheeseburger. The mud pie dessert was delicious. Basically chocolate ice cream (rocky road to be specific) in a pie with an Oreo crust. It was pretty frozen when I got it, I probably would have let it sit for a while if I hadn't wanted to get on my way. But I still ate the whole thing! One strange thing occurred while I was eating dessert. There appeared to be some sort of commotion in the kitchen and I heard a young woman screaming profanities at someone. I didn't really care, but if I had had children with me, I would have been less than thrilled. Overall, definitely worth a visit! A little overpriced (like everything in Estes) but you'll get a good meal!

Like others had stated, only place open later than 7 in Estes. My wife said that a bartender at the Stanley had said it was a good place to go. Drive by McDonald's in the way, should have went there. My wife ordered the pasta dish that had spaghetti, ravioli, and lasagna with a meatball. Spaghetti was cold and the noodles were way too thick. Lasagna had a hard crusty bottom. So hard she couldn't bite through it.must have been the end of the pan. Ravioli was tasteless. The meatball was nasty. I was tasteless and did not have a meat texture. My stromboli was ok. The crusty was a little overdone but had plenty of meat. The poppers were good. Glad we ordered them. They were easily the best part of the meal. My suggestion, don't eat late in Estes. If you do, go to McDonald's.

Food was good, but the service was exceptional. We ate dinner here because it was pretty late by the time we got back in town after being in the park all day, and there wasn't much open - I'm glad we did. Every person we saw working here acknowledged us at some point, whether just to see how we were doing, or just to say hello. I asked for a custom food item, which our server was more than happy to make happen - and the dish came out great. I got the buffalo chicken salad (grilled instead of breaded/fried) and my boyfriend got the Reuben sandwich. Both good. Reasonably priced (for a resort town). The only reason this isn't a five star rating is that the food wasn't completely mind blowing. But it was definitely good for what we were looking for. Lots of menu options and good quality.

Got the All You Can Eat Spaghetti with a meatball for $5.95 special. It was good. Homemade noodles, sauce and meatball. Always nice to get fresh. My husband got the Pub Mac n Cheese with meatball and LOVED it. Had a large menu with a wide variety to choose from.

What started out as a one star experience, quickly turned into a 4 star one. Prior to traveling to Estes, I did my research on Yelp and knew this place was worth visiting. We went our first night in Estes and it truly set the tone. When arriving, Luis quickly took my drink order, made a snarky comment to my boyfriend...and was never to be seen or heard from again. About 10 minutes later, I spotted him behind the bar and he signaled that he would be right with us. We were hungry and I was getting irritated. Moments later, the other bartender came and took our orders and truly turned around the experience. She was handling the bar and bar tables with ease and a smile. The food was phenomenal and my boyfriend was pleased they served his favorite beer (Dos Equis, a rare find in Estes). The spinach artichoke dip was superb. I ordered the Gorgonzola pizza topped with shrimp and my boyfriend ordered a standard bacon cheeseburger. Both EXCELLENT! Luis appeared again once his friends arrived. He checked in on us, but I was so turned off. The good was so great, we went again a few days later. The female bartender (can't remember her name), was working again. She gave us great tips about Estes and we shared our pictures and videos with her. Food was great again. We will be back next year.

I agree with a previous poster that this place is pretty ordinary. Generous portions, though pretty basic food. Some items seem overpriced for the quality of the ingredients. Service is decent. It's a convenient place to eat as it is not generally overcrowded and parking is available. They have a great kids' coloring book to keep the kiddos occupied and a diaper changing station in the bathroom.

  • mark w.

over rated. generous portions, the food is only ok. Service ok. We had the mac and cheese. awful. a bunch of penne pasta with cheesy stuff on it. Fish and chips. acceptable, nothing to write home about. Burger. huge, but again, nothing great. overall, quite ordinary and safe.

    (2)
  • Lindsay K.

If you like expensive fried food, huge portions, and awkward vibes, this place is for you! Fettuccini Alfredo was possibly the worst thing I've ever had in my life, despite the homemade pasta.

    (2)
  • Mike B.

Good food, and good service. Tonight, I had the lasagna and minestrone soup, which were both good. The service was pretty good as well.

    (4)
  • Anona D.

The food made us sick and the waitress wasn't attentive. The wings were dry and my penne was too saucy.

    (2)
  • Jeremy S.

Popped in for a beer when passing through to see some peaks. Friendly bar service. Bar seems like a local's hang out. Good beer selection and prices are fair. We didn't try the food.

  • Theresa B.

Best chicken parm and homemade pasta I've ever had... Meatballs and sausage made in house were amazing too!

    (5)
  • David M.

I had the megawatt burger and she had the wings. The burger was very tasty and juicy, cooked a nice medium rare. The wings were quite hot. If you don't like them too hot, I recommend something other than the buffalo. My mouth is still burning after the meal. I think the sauce could use more flavor and less heat, personally. Service was great. The staff were friendly and attentive. Unlike many other places, I did not have to request additional napkins for the wings. This should be obvious, but you would be surprised how many places get this wrong. Someone who looked like a manager came by after our server to check and see that we were happy with our meal, which is always a nice touch. I'm happy with our choice and I would eat here again!

  • Laura T.

Firecracker shrimp amazing! Have to say it was worth waiting for 45 min as my husband had eaten his salad and burger and two beers...but come on, shrimp cooks in 5 minutes! Fireplace and booth view of the mountains. Happy hour is $2 tap beers. Overall though, slow dinner service, good food, yummy beer.

Ate supper there last Wednesday the 9th. Had fond memories of great food from their old location. The prices and portion sizes were outrageous. Cables is no longer a nice Italian restaurant. It is super LOUD and is a bar more than restaurant. The meatballs were bland, underseasoned and tasted like dog food. My chicken tasted freezer burned and obviously not freshly prepared. Our tab was over $110.00. I was embarrassed as I talked up the place so much. What a disappointment. Yuk!

    (1)
  • Amy M.

This place was so incredibly over priced. The nachos were composed of burnt chips with crappy toppings. The jalapeño poppers were over $10 for something they took out of the freezer and threw in the fryer. The best part of the meal was the diet coke.

    (1)
  • Allison S.

The food was pretty good. It was a little on the expensive side (it's a tourist town) but pretty well worth it.

  • Tanner H.

Went there on a Tuesday for lunch. The daily special was $7 burgers, of which they had about 10 different types. I got to try 3 different types from the people I was at the restaurant with, and they were all great! Mushroom burger (mushroom and swiss), the ultimate burger (served with a fried egg and bacon, my favorite), and the smokehouse burger (BBQ, bacon). Side salads were fresh, french fries were alright. Waitstaff was friendly and courteous. Place was clean, nothing too fancy, but appropriate. I'd recommend this place over many others in the area. The place seems to care about their food and service more than most other places in Estes Park.

Great service, good food and friendly atmosphere:) what else can you ask for! The margaritas for $4 on Saturdays are delicious! Firecracker shrimp is amazing!

    (5)
  • Jeff F.

Great wait staff couldn't overcome frozen chicken tenders in my buffalo chicken wrap. A medium burger was cooked well done and beyond. Comfort food was in abundance, but quality was sadly lacking.

  • Meg R.

Came here for the $5.95 all you can eat spaghetti. Could barely finish the first place, but got a second! Good, thick noodles and hearty tomato sauce! The "Jolly Cocktails" we're quite good and strong. Got the Mudpie for dessert to split. Great atmosphere, not very busy though.. We had a great location next to the fireplace. Emma was a great waitress too! Will be back for sure and we will make sure to ask for Emma!

Was hesitant to stop here based on a few of the reviews, but I'm glad we did. Lunch was incredible. Reuben sandwich, calzone, homemade spaghetti (get this!), and even the kids' meals were all top notch. If we lived closer, this would be our family's restaurant!

  • Laura J.

We love this place ever year when we come to Estes and as a bonus this is the only bar in town with the mlb package. We watched our game, got great service and had great food. Our server, Lana, was so personable and accommodating. I had the spinach raspberry chicken salad and my husband had the Rueben calzone special. They were both excellent! The service was perfect, the food was very tasty, and the atmosphere was fun. Our only negative was that Shawn, the owner, who we usually see when we are here once a year, was out of town, so we missed him. Until next year, Shawn....the Jones'!

We stopped into Cable's Restaurant on our recent visit to Estes Park and we were glad we did. I got the Cable's calzone and my wife got an 8" Margherita Pizza. Both were excellent. Service was fantastic. The owner's were both activly out on the floor helping the crew out. Three different employees stopped by to ensure everything was good - which it was. Too bad we found this place towards the end of our trip. Having visited several other "go to" restaurants in Estes Park and being disappointed, I would encourage anyone to stop in. Get away from the downtown Estes madness.

Awesome! Minestrone was best I ever had! Good service, food was a surprise, it was excellent! Maybe best pub in Estes Park. Blew away Smoking Daves BBQ which yesterday was sub-par. I'll come back!

It was recommended by a local bartender at The Stanley Hotel. This place was great to have a few drinks and watch the World Cup. I had the black & blue burger with fries, and it was cooked perfectly. My wife had the nachos with ground beef, they were great as well. They also have a good choice of craft brews. I would definitely recommend checking this place out to view any sporting event.

I really don't like writing negative reviews and it isn't something I do often, but unfortunately it was warranted. We were out "late" 8:00ish looking for someplace to eat on a Thursday night. We stopped by the Grubsteak, but they were about to close, so they told us that Cable's is open late. We walked in and the staff was awesome. Very friendly and accommodating. I even enjoyed the ambience. The fire place and flat screen TVs in the main dinning room are a great touch. Great atmosphere. When I looked at the menu and noticed the prices, I even looked at my wife and said well at these prices I bet the food is pretty good. Boy was I wrong...and that's the reason for the negative review. Let me start by saying I am not a picky eater and will eat just about anything. Or at least that's what I thought up until last night. We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer (for $13), the mozzarella sticks were fine (think similar to any chain restaurant) just way over priced. But the marina sauce was terrible. My wife and I ordered a pizza for dinner. The crust is too thin, flakes and breaks off as you pick it up and there is way too much cheese, but the pizza sauce (not sure if it was the same as the marina with the mozzarella sticks) too was terrible. My son had a burger, it was edible, but over cooked. My daughter ordered the spaghetti. She took one bite and spit it out and said this tastes like throw up. She can be a little bit of a diva, so naturally I thought she was exaggerating. She wasn't. I took one bite and that is exactly what it tasted like. It tasted like someone threw up in the spaghetti. It was absolutely disgusting. This was the worst meal I have had in recent memory. Maybe ever. And as I said, I really liked the place, the staff was awesome and I hate writing negative reviews. My advice for management would be start over with new recipes, a new chef or at the very least new red sauces.

This place is great!! The five stars goes primarily to the staff and manager, who are extremely friendly and attentive. We sat at the bar on a Sunday to watch football (we had heard they may be the only bar in town with NFL ticket if you're interested in watching the less popular games). TVs are first-come, first-served so get there when they open at 10:30 a.m. to call dibs on a TV for your game (yes, they open at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays at least, despite what Yelp and their door signage says). They also have $2 drafts on Sundays with a pretty decent selection, including Ranger IPA, 90 Shilling and Guinness - what a great deal!! As is common with NFL Sundays, we ordered a bunch of "bar food" which was decent. I would definitely come back here and give their famous spaghetti a try! Thanks Janice for a great Sunday Funday! :)

My husband and I were trying to find a place to eat after a ghost night tour at the Stanley Hotel. It seems to be the only place open in Estes Park after 9:00 pm during the off season, so we decided to stop and try it. The food was good, the service was polite, and the margarita was delicious. They had reasonable prices, but a limited beer selection.

    (4)
  • Emily M.

Very nice service! The food was great and the people were so friendly. We got mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and they were very good. The salad had homemade croutons that were so good. We split a sandwich and they even cut it in half for us. I think splitting it was a good idea. It was a large sandwich.

On a quest for s good juicy burger and we wound up at Cable's during a crazy busy weekend in downtown Estes. Think we waited about 30 mins for 2 burgers and it didn't seem that busy in the restaurant. Maybe the bar was busier. Service was good and Mgr (super nice but busy) came to see if all was good but I was already frustrated and couldn't talk about it. The patties were hand formed but not cooked medium or medium rare as we requested. And the bun was dry and way too hard. Would like to see a butter grilled bun but this seemed to be a toasted Kaiser bun. Tip: I would definitely ask for a different kind of bun. Hawaiian buns are mentioned for sliders - may try that next time. And skip the fries. Not much flavor. They have several side options and I'll have to think harder next time. The ranch dressing was not to my taste either so I'll have to try something different there, too. The Pub Mac N Cheese (with sausage and/or meatballs) is pretty good but it's penne pasta, not macaroni. Good for sharing but a lot of pasta for 1 person. I would consider giving this place another try, but honestly think I prefer the place that was here before.

Just had a great time and a great meal in this inviting neighborhood pub. We sat in the bar and felt very welcomed by the bar tender Laura. Italian food was scratch made and delightful. Happy Hour specials all day on New Years.

I wanted to love this place, but unfortunately they struck out in the first visit. We had to inquire 40 minutes after ordering about when our food would arrive. It was busy, but not even a wait. When our burgers arrived they were barely warm, however the cheese was burnt and unrecognizable. The only reason for two stars is the beer was good and the manger comped one meal. The manager did attempt to bring another meal, but after a 40 minute wait with a toddler, we settled for what they brought.

  • Katie G.

The food here is done quite well, but what struck me the most was the service. My parents and I arrived at a hectic time for the restaurant. A party of 60+ high school kids had gotten there before us and were living it up. The host found us a table quicker than we expected all the while apologizing for the noise. When. The waiter came to take our drink order he also apologized for the noise. It took more than a few minutes for our drinks from the bar to get to us but during our wait, the manager came over to us to tell us they hadn't forgotten us but that the bar was pretty backed up much like the kitchen. Eventually the kids cleared out and the restaurant fell back into a dull roar. Again the manager came to make sure everything was well. It is clear that this establishment cares about their customers and we will definitely be returning next time were in town. While we were plenty happy with everything cable's did for us, the highlight of the night was when our server brought us a piece of their signature mud pie and once again apologized for the chaos. Well done Cable's bar and grill. Well done.

Great food, very fresh! Every game was on and it was a fun environment to watch! We had a hard time finding the cowboys game in colorado but they were the only place showing it in estes park. We had the wrap which was massive and tasted great, my husband had the wings, chips and salsa and guacamole and enjoyed it.

First timers in Estes Park, we were directed to Cables. We were pleasantly surprised!! We received top notch service from Michael. He was attentive from beginning to end, knowledgable on the menu and area, and really seemed invested in us as customers. The food was delicious, not necessarily amazing, as we had a personal pizza and nachos. The drinks were strong and tasty. All in all, we had such an awesome experience and will come back next time we are in Estes Park!!

Awesome burgers - bet the rest of the menu is great also, but a half pound bacon mushroom swiss is all that one can eat.

My husband and I threw our rehearsal party at Cables the night before our wedding and it was PHENOMENAL! Sean, the owner, not only accommodated our large group, but continuously checked on our party to make sure everything was going well. We had such a wonderful evening that we decided to throw the after-party at Cables the following evening. Thank you Sean and the entire staff for creating a relaxed, friendly, and welcoming environment that we all enjoyed. The food was great and the margaritas were going down smooth. The large room with the fireplace created a wonderful backdrop for pictures, and the parking lot offered plenty of on-site parking. We will absolutely be back to enjoy Cables as diners.

Our first time eating here and we really appreciated the hospitality! The food was very good and they were very accomadating to our gluten and dairy free needs. They really care about taking care of you and most if all they serve food until 10:00!!! Drinks till 2 :))).

Went there for dinner. Very average. Minestrone soup was small and salty and meaty. I thought minestrone was a vegetable soup. The fish and chips were greasy. The kid's pizza was very good and the fries were very good and massive in quantity. Good atmosphere but overall average.

$22 Sounds like something reasonable, right? Yeah, except that was for mozzarella sticks, Coke and a machined Sweet Tea - and a $5 tip for the server's trouble. The rest of our meal was comped. The first sign of a bad meal is when you get your Sweet Tea expecting something nicely brewed and get something from a machine served at Burger King. Whatever --- some people don't have good tea. $2.75 each. We ordered cheese sticks. Looked like the crusted variety served at the King Soopers deli. They tasted like them too. The cheese was also not melted - so they were literally sticks of cheese served with a salty marinara. This is about $11 for 8 pieces. We got a 16 inch pizza that was about $15 just for cheese, then about $2.50 per topping. We got the classic pepperoni and sausage. Basically $20. The pizza was nice and large and LOOKED pretty tasty at first glance. Upon closer inspection it was extremely greasy looking. First piece... immediately, frozen dough came to mind. Then the sting of the saltiness on the tongue. Then the stream of grease. Something crumbly was hitting the roof of my mouth. What was that I wondered? Oh, what do you know! Unmelted mozzarella hiding below a thick melted layer. Finish the first slice --- awful. What am I supposed to do? Grabbed another slice hoping for something better. The second piece was harder to eat than the first. I couldn't finish the piece because my stomach started turning. As the pizza sat there while a thought of my next move, puddles of grease had begun to surface on the remaining slices. Manager please! HORRIBLE food. I will admit other people around us had dishes that looked large and yummy -- but we will never be back to find out the truth. Maybe it's awesome... or maybe the dear people of Estes have terrible taste on food. Nah --- couldn't be that, right? 3 tables at a pub restaurant at 8pm on a Friday is a good sign, right? Thought so...

One of the best casual restaurants in Estes Park. Ate there for lunch. Had the lasagna, Ruben sandwich, and bruschetta. All was wonderful, especially the bruschetta! The Ruben was as big as your head! Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend!

Oh, I really wanted to like this place after seeing their menu but nope, a terrible experience all around. Lots of waitstaff and a manager working but on a Friday night with a large festival in town and we were one of maybe five tables seated with all the others empty...not a good sign. Our waitress was young and in a hurry (not sure why as we seemed to be her only customers). The only soup on the menu is minestrone and it was awful...pretty sure they use their leftover spaghetti sauce as the base and just add some stuff. Our salads looked good but were so watery. The plates both had huge puddles of water from the lettuce. The dressing became so watery and wouldn't stick to any part of the salad due to the wet lettuce. It was awful! I was hoping the manager would stop by and ask how things were but he only greeted the table of what looked like locals.

We live not far from this newly opened restaurant. They surely should advertise more because they are known in Greeley and some other town, can't remember, for their Italian food and their homemade spaghetti noodles. In Estes Park on Monday night it's all you can eat spaghetti $5.95 (no meat, that's extra). This was our first time tonight and we ordered an 18 inch pizza, really really good...just enough sauce, not drowning in sauce, enough cheese and nice pepperoni and ham (we asked to put pepperoni on half and ham on half and they did). It has such a nice flavor and nice thickness. We chose the thick not the thin but it is still thin but chewy and very good. We loved it. Nice atmosphere, very friendly waitress and quick service. I can't wait to go back this Monday to try their spaghetti. They also on the menu show huge burgers, some really nice starters, pasta dishes, pizza, some nice sounding desserts. We just had the pizza and beer tonight and had to bring home some of the pizza. I'm sure we are going to be regulars here.

My husband and I ate here the first night that we stayed here and the customer service and food was awesome. We could not stop talking about how great our waiter was, he was awesome. The burger was very good and not to me the fish and chips. Definitely will come back.

We had been regular customers of Cables since they opened last year so when our kids came to visit over Labor Day we highly recommended Cables. What a disaster! The food was awful not to mention that it took forever to get the food (to go). While they waited, they were not even offered a glass of water so they ordered cokes which the waitress failed to serve but did charge for! When I called to express how disappointed we were the manager/owner blamed it on being understaffed and overcrowded. Cables will probably go the way of all of its predecessors: just a bad memory. I will never recommend it again and most likely than not will not return as a customer.

While visiting Estes Park from Long Beach, CA we found Cables Pub & Grill. It happened to 50% off any burger day, so we gave it a try. The burgers were awesome and the service was even better! We were so impressed, we went back again the next day. My wife had the pub Mac & Cheese which she loved. Highly recommend the homemade Italian sausage with the Mac & Cheese. I had a calzone which was loaded with the ingredients I chose and was very flavorful. Shawn took care of us and again the service was incredible. If you're in the area, I recommend Cables. Great food and great service...you won't be disappointed.

The only place OPEN LATE in Estes in the winter. We ended up there at ~9pm, after trying to go to several other restaurants. Apparently everything closes around 8pm in Estes, so GO EAT EARLY. When we arrived, Cables was literally the only place we could eat. We ordered: - Spinach artichoke dip - Chicken tenders (me) - Spaghetti and ravioli (my bf) The spinach artichoke dip was fine -- very cream cheesy -- so a bit different than expected, but not bad. My chicken tenders were ordinary, but got the job done. My bf's pasta entree was weird and bad. Cables prides themselves on making everything in-house, but they don't necessarily do it well. His spaghetti was cold, and resembled German spaetzle (thick, rustic egg noodles). The ravioli, he said, were fine, but the pasta sauce was incredibly salty. Verdict: only go if you need to eat past 8pm, but don't get the spaghetti.
